The three plans

The right plan depends on how many services, locations and channels you need managed at once.

Plan Month-to-month Billed annually Best suited to
Growth $1,999/month $1,499/month The essential marketing work for an established firm, usually with one location
Elite $3,999/month $2,999/month More channels running together, and Trades.Agency website packages at half price
Enterprise $7,999/month $5,999/month Your own dedicated team with priority support, plus any website package designed and built at no charge

The full and current breakdown is always on the Trades.Agency pricing page. Should the two ever disagree, go by the Trades.Agency page, because it is updated first.

What drives the cost for a Vaughan contractor

Four things decide which plan fits.

  1. How many services you sell. A roofer with one main service needs far less than a design-build firm selling additions, basements, kitchens and custom homes.
  2. Whether you have a commercial side. Running homeowner marketing and industrial B2B marketing together roughly doubles the pages, campaigns and reporting.
  3. The state of your website. A slow or outdated site has to be fixed before ads make sense. On Elite, website packages are half price; on Enterprise, a website is included.
  4. How many channels run at once. Local SEO alone is lighter than local SEO, paid search, project content and follow-up together.

Ad spend sits on top of the plan. It goes straight to Google or another platform from an account in your name.

A worked example

Suppose you run a renovation firm in Woodbridge. Your average signed job is $55,000 and your gross margin is 25%, or $13,750 per job.

  • On the Growth plan with annual billing, you pay $1,499 a month, or $17,988 a year, plus HST.
  • Add a modest ad budget of $2,000 a month, or $24,000 a year.
  • Your total marketing cost is about $42,000 a year before HST.

At $13,750 gross margin per job, you need just over three extra signed jobs a year to cover it. Everything beyond that is profit. If your close rate on serious enquiries is one in five, that means about 16 extra serious enquiries a year, or a little more than one a month. Run the same numbers with your own figures before you choose. Our guide to pricing a lead explains each step.

How to choose a plan

Use this rough guide:

  • Growth if you have one location, one to three main services and a decent website, and want local SEO plus some paid search.
  • Elite if you sell several high-value services, want paid search, content and project marketing running together, or need a new website at a lower cost.
  • Enterprise if you have more than one location, a residential and a commercial division, or want a dedicated team and a website included.

If you are not sure, start smaller. Moving up a plan is simple, and because terms are month-to-month you are never stuck paying for more than you need.

What every plan includes

Every plan includes a written strategy, monthly reporting on enquiries and signed jobs by source, and access to a senior strategist by call, text or email. You own your website, domain, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics from day one.

We are a marketing and consulting service, not a contractor. For what each service involves, see services; for common questions about contracts and ownership, see the FAQ. The first 30-minute consultation is free for eligible trades businesses.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a long-term contract?

No. There is no fixed term; 30 days' notice ends the plan. Annual billing lowers the monthly price, but it is a choice, not a requirement.

Does the plan price include advertising?

No. Ad spend on Google or other platforms is billed by the platform to your own account. Our fee covers strategy, set-up, management and reporting.

Do you charge HST?

Yes. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and Vaughan firms add Ontario's 13% HST.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The initial 30-minute consultation is free for eligible trades businesses, and it is separate from any paid plan.

Which plan do most contractors start on?

Most single-location firms start on Growth. Firms running several services, a commercial division or more than one location usually need Elite or Enterprise.
